American Rivers Conference Commissioner Search

About the American Rivers Conference
  • The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) dates back to December 8, 1922, when the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Association was formed, eventually becoming the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. With the addition of Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2016, the conference rebranded to the American Rivers Conference in 2018. The conference celebrated its 100-year anniversary in December 2022 and looks forward to the next century of greatness as one of the finest Division III conferences in the country. The A-R-C sponsors 23 official sports, most recently adding swimming & diving, competitive cheer, and competitive dance.
  • During the 2022-23 academic year, the A-R-C saw 12 individual national championship titles earned in cross country, indoor track & field, wrestling, and outdoor track & field. Wartburg football played through the postseason to the semifinal round. The Wartburg men's cross country team finished runner-up and the women's team finished third at the national championships. The Loras men's and women's indoor track & field teams each finished third at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. Loras' women's outdoor track & field team followed up their indoor performance with a runner-up finish at the outdoor national championships. Wartburg men's wrestling finished runner-up at the championships, led by two individual national champions. Softball had four teams earn bids to the NCAA Tournament, with Coe advancing to the national semifinals. Each year, the A-R-C is highlighted in national spotlights among many sports and continues to get stronger each year.
