Garnet Trust named official NIL collective of Gamecock Athletics
Garnet Trust is now the “Official NIL Partner” of South Carolina Athletics, it was announced on Thursday.
The partnership began on July 1, according to a release, in collaboration with Learfield and Gamecock Sports Properties.
Launched in 2021, Garnet Trust utilizes NIL deals to create experiences between the fan base, student-athletes, and businesses. USC fans can join at one of six membership levels, beginning at $10 per month, to get access to deliverables like content, memorabilia, and events.

“We are grateful for the commitment of the Garnet Trust to our student-athletes,” said Athletics Director Ray Tanner. “As the ‘Official NIL Partner of Gamecock Athletics’, our student-athletes will be able to build on their positive impact in the community by leveraging their NIL opportunities through Garnet Trust.”
“We’ve seen the positive impact other collectives have made when officially partnering with their respective universities, and we are thankful for the opportunity to make the same move going forward,” said Jeremy Smith, Director of Operations for Garnet Trust. “Our ability to use the school’s marks and promote our mission at sporting events increases our sustainability in this space. We are excited about the future of NIL at the University of South Carolina.”

Garnet Trust was launched in November 2021 as the first NIL collective for the University of South Carolina. Our goal was, and still is, to connect the Gamecocks fan base with USC student-athletes through legal and compliant NIL opportunities.
USC student-athletes are legally compensated to provide deliverables to Garnet Trust members. Those supporters then get access to digital content, autographed items, events, and other exclusive experiences based on membership level.
Student-athletes that work with Garnet Trust also have access to resources that help them prepare for life after athletics: financial planning, tax advisement, and branding assistance.
Garnet Trust provides end-to-end solutions for business owners interested in leveraging the power of endorsements from Gamecocks student-athletes.
NIL deals generated by Garnet Trust are only conducted with current student-athletes at USC. All agreements are put to contract utilizing insights from NIL legal experts.
