Harring Resigns as Head Coach

7/24/2023 4:30:00 PM

After 19 seasons at the helm, Ken Harring has resigned as the head coach of the UMass Lowell baseball team.

"I want to thank the university, department, colleagues, coaches, and most importantly, the players that I have coached for the last 19 years at UMass Lowell. I am proud of our many accomplishments over so many years. After some reflection, I have made the difficult decision to voluntarily resign my position at the university and move on to the next chapter of my career. I wish to avoid being a distraction to the university and program that I am so proud of and that has been such an important part of my life for so many years. I wish the university and the program, and most of all, the student-athletes all the best successes both on the field and off. It has been an honor and pleasure to have served as the head coach and be a part of the success story of the UMass Lowell baseball team."

On behalf of the University, Athletic Director Peter Casey said, "I want to thank Coach Ken Harring for his years of dedicated service to the university, particularly the baseball program. The university wishes him all the best in his future endeavors."

Nick Barese will be the interim head coach for the River Hawks' 2023-2024 season.
