Chestnut Hill College Director of Athletics and Recreation Jesse Balcer is proud to announce the hiring of David Scott as the institutions next Head Softball Coach.

"David Scott is proven to be able to build successful softball programs, said Balcer. "His understanding of the game, as well as his ability to connect with his teams are the qualities that gave me confidence that he will be able to grow the Chestnut Hill College softball program into a contender in the CACC."

Scott becomes the 17th Head softball coach in the program's history which dates back to the 1948-49 season.

Prior to joining Chestnut Hill, Scott spent four seasons as the Head softball coach at Quakertown Community High School, guiding the Panthers to a 65-21 record over that span.  Last season, the Panthers produced a perfect 20-0  regular season record, a school first, and won the Suburban One League Liberty Division Championship before falling in the first round of the District 1 playoffs.  In 2022, Scott led the Panthers to the PIAA Class 6A State playoffs, reaching the quarterfinal round.

Scott also served as an assistant coach (hitting) for the La Salle University softball program, and had a coaching stint at Agnes Irwin School and  served as a baseball coach at Lansdale Catholic High School.  He currently runs a business as a private hitting instructor.

"I'm very excited to be joining Chestnut Hill," said Scott.  "The school's academic reputation speaks for itself.  I can't wait to start working with the players so that we can build the softball program into a CACC contender.  The girls that I've met so far seem like great people and I'm really looking forward to working with them."

"I look forward to working with Coach Scott and his staff to make Chestnut Hill softball relevant in the Conference," adds Balcer.

The Softball team will open their 2024 season on February 23, 2024  with a doubleheader at College of Staten Island.
