Yost to Make Move to Kings Hammer SC

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Longtime Capital University men's soccer head coach Alan Yost has announced his intention to resign as the leader of the Comets in order to pursue an opportunity at Kings Hammer Soccer Club.

Yost will take over as Kings Hammer's Elite Program Director, overseeing the club's teams competing in the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) as well being on the pre-professional team staff which competes in the United Soccer League (USL) system as a member of League Two.

Coach Yost leaves quite the legacy at Capital. After arriving in 2012, he was at the helm of the men's soccer program for 10 seasons. Over the course of his tenure, Capital achieved two NCAA Tournament berths in 2017 and 2018, in which the Purple and White went on to the second round both times. CU secured a share of the OAC Regular Season Title during that 2018 season, along with finishing runner-up in the 2017 OAC Tournament. Capital reached the postseason every year under Yost, advancing to the semifinals or further on seven occasions.

Yost coached 11 players with all-region honors and 50 with all-conference honors, 11 of which were first team. Additionally, he's had five different players crowned as OAC Player of the Year and one OAC Freshman of the Year. In the classroom, his players have earned 62 Academic All-OAC accolades.

Yost departs with an overall record of 106-78-21 (.568) and an OAC record of 55-34-11 (.605).

Capital will now start to search for Coach Yost's successor. Inquiries about the position can be directed to Dr. Darrell Bailey, Sr.
