The Ohio State University Max M. Fisher College of Business broke ground on a new, multimillion dollar structure that will enhance on-campus event capabilities for individuals and organizations throughout central Ohio.

The all-season structure and outdoor space will provide a year-round environment that facilitates private and public special events and expanded educational opportunities on campus.

The project was primarily supported by Clayton C. Daley Jr., former vice chairman and chief financial officer at The Procter & Gamble Company and an alumni of the college. The pavilion and terrace recognize the Daley family’s legacy and longstanding commitment to Ohio State and Fisher. Three generations of Daleys have graduated as Buckeyes, beginning with Clayton C. Daley in 1951 and continuing most recently with Clayton C. Daley, III in 2006.

“Fisher is both honored and incredibly grateful to the Daley family for their generosity in support of the Daley Family Pavilion and Daley Family Terrace,” said Anil K. Makhija, dean and John W. Berry, Sr. Chair in Business at Fisher. “Together with Clayton, we share a vision that this space will serve as a premier destination for our college, university and central Ohio communities to mark special events and celebrate milestones.”

The pavilion, at 3,200 square feet, will provide sheltered space for Fisher traditions such as its annual pre-game at Fisher tailgates, as well as expand on the Blackwell’s capabilities to host conferences, awards ceremonies and weddings. The adjacent terrace offers nearly 10,000 square feet of additional outdoor space.

“As a family of proud alumni, we know the power that an education from Ohio State provides,” said Clayton C. Daley Jr. “Our support of this project celebrates the important role that business education has had for our family for more than 70 years. We are excited by the many opportunities this new structure will provide to countless groups and individuals here on campus and throughout central Ohio.”

Construction on the Daley Family Pavilion and Daley Family Terrace will begin in early 2023, with an anticipated opening in late 2023.
