Central Florida has doubled its cheese factor, with Cheez-It expanding its title sponsorship deal from the Cheez-It Bowl to include the Citrus Bowl.

The Citrus Bowl has been a part of the Orlando community since 1947 and is a mainstay of college football’s New Year’s Day schedule. It features a matchup between the SEC and Big Ten teams at Camping World Stadium. The next game is scheduled for Jan. 2 at 1 p.m. on ABC.

“We’re excited to continue our partnership with Cheez-It, one of the most innovative and creative sponsors in college football,” said Steve Hogan, CEO of Florida Citrus Sports. “Their history of creating a show-stopping experience for players and fans will help take the Citrus Bowl experience to new heights.”

Previous title sponsors for the Citrus Bowl included CompUSA, Capital One, Buffalo Wild Wings and Vrbo.

Added Erin Storm, senior marketing director for Cheez-It: “We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with Florida Citrus Sports and bring the cheese-infused action to the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl through next-level experiences for college football fans everywhere. We can’t wait to show fans how we’re bringing them into the fold for the cheeziest bowl games yet.”

Cheez-It has been the official sponsor of the College Football Playoff and a title sponsor of a postseason game since 2017. This new agreement is in partnership with Disney Advertising and includes exclusive naming rights, digital and social media content, in-stadium exposure and onsite activation at the game.

The Cheez-It Bowl, which features a tie-in with the Big 12 and ACC, is scheduled for Dec. 29 at 5:30 p.m. on ESPN.
