New giving society creates a new way to invest in GW Athletics

GW Athletics is excited to announce a new, exclusive, leadership giving society, The 1732 Circle, to directly impact the experience of GW's student-athletes for generations to come. The 1732 Circle, which is grounded in George Washington's motto, "Deeds, not words," serves as the flagship fundraising entity under the Buff and Blue Fund, with its members invested in the overall success of GW Athletics.

Supporters of GW Athletics who make a minimum commitment of $25,000 or more that is fulfilled over five years, supporting GW Athletics, scholarships, and facilities projects, will become members of The 1732 Circle.

Multi-year commitments to the 1732 Circle will be used to enhance the university's 20 varsity sports, scholarships, facilities and other initiatives. Through their generosity and transformational support, members of The 1732 Circle will aid GW's deeply rooted traditions of excellence in academics and athletics by significantly investing in our student-athletes for years to come.

"This is an incredible opportunity for alumni, friends, parents, and fans of GW Athletics to come together and support our student-athletes with a significant, philanthropic gift that will have generational impact," GW Director of Athletics Tanya Vogel said. "The 1732 Circle will foster a level of sustained giving that will have a generational impact on our student-athletes in their commitment to excel in the classroom and compete for championships."

The 1732 Circle is an exclusive group of the most committed, philanthropic supporters of GW Athletics. Members enjoy unique stewardship opportunities, including access to special events with those directly impacted by your support, branded gear, and exclusive conversations with our Athletics Director and Head Coaches.

The 1732 Circle will enhance GW Athletics by supporting the following priorities:
* Student-Athlete Scholarship Fund
* The Buff & Blue Fund
* Facility projects
* Sport specific needs

The 1732 Circle Explained
The university's namesake, George Washington, was born in Westmoreland County, Virginia, on February 22, 1732. So it seemed fitting that we should draw our name from that historic birth year. The 1732 Circle's motto, "Deeds, not words," was George Washington's credo.
