Helget joins staff after successful stint with 2023 U.S. Senior Open Championship

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Director of Athletics Holly Schreiner has hired Mallory Helget as the Assistant Athletics Director of Ticketing and Promotions, as announced on Wednesday. Helget, who will begin her post on August 2, joins the Huskies after a successful stint as the Volunteer Coordinator for the 2023 U.S. Senior Open Championship in Stevens Point, Wis.

In her role, Helget will lead and supervise the department's ticket sales, groups sales and promotions for all 17 varsity sports at SCSU. She will also serve as a liaison to the St. Cloud State Sports Properties for sponsorship fulfillment and suite sales at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.

"We are so excited to be adding Mallory to our Athletics staff," said Associate Athletics Director of External Operations Nora Lieser. "Mallory's experience in college athletics as a student and young professional make her the perfect fit for this role. We are looking forward to having Mallory elevate our ticket sales and marketing efforts for the Athletics Department."

"I'm thrilled to join the St. Cloud State Athletics staff as the Assistant Athletic Director for Ticketing & Promotions," said Helget. "I'd like to thank Holly Schreiner, Nora Lieser, and the search committee for leading me through this process and putting their trust in me. I look forward to building upon already successful programs and continuing a legacy of excellence. I hope to bring new energy and ideas to fill seats for all teams."

Since February 2022, Helget has served as the volunteer coordinator for the 2023 U.S. Senior Open where she just wrapped up the tournament in Stevens Point, which took place June 26 – July 2, 2023. Helget managed, prepared and acted as the sole contact for more than 2,500 volunteers for the major championship. A part of her role, she maintained the volunteer budget to provide meals, appreciation gifts and uniforms. She also led a leadership team of 52 committee chair people and 36 hole captains, and co-hosted volunteer training with the United States Golf Association (USGA) staff.

Helget is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in marketing management and economics. As a promotions manager intern within the athletic department, she assisted in the planning and implementation of gameday promotions for several sports and assisted with the season ticketing processing for the football team during the Tommies Division-I transition. She also served as a volunteer services intern at the PGA Tour's 3M Open over the summer of 2021, where she helped recruit, register and organize over 1,500 volunteers.

Mallory now resides in St. Cloud with her dog, Marlo. She enjoys taking Marlo for walks, golfing and spending time at the lake.
