Lucero Named Associate Athletic Director for Operations and Community Relations

PUEBLO, Colo. – Colorado State University Pueblo Vice President of Athletics and Strategic Partnerships Dr. Paul Plinske has announced the addition to Brooke Lucero to the ThunderWolves' Department of Athletics as the Associate Director of Operations and Community Relations. Lucero will begin her role with Pack Athletics on Sept. 1.
 
"CSU Pueblo hosts a substantial amount of sporting events each year. In addition to Pack Athletics, we attract well over 20,000 visitors to campus through our camps and clinics, regional and national events, and community engagement," Dr. Plinske said. "Brooke is no stranger to CSU Pueblo and understands the emphasis we place on first-class operations and high-level community relations. We are very excited to welcome her back to Pack Athletics and the Pueblo community. She is a tireless worker with an endearing personality. She is fueled by people and will do everything she cane to enhance the experience of others. I'm especially excited to watch her flourish in his key leadership role and will join a strong team who is ambitious to attain our goals."
 
Lucero, who returns to CSU Pueblo after working with Pack Athletics for a period of 14 months from 2019-20, replaces Jenna McKinley-Fall, who was recently promoted to CSU Pueblo's Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Student-Athletic Development and the department's Senior Woman Administrator.

Lucero, who is native of Aguilar, Colo., returns to CSU Pueblo Athletics after working since November of 2020 as the Trio Student Support Services Director at Trinidad State College in Trinidad, Colo. In that position at Trinidad, Lucero oversees advising, career services and disability services. Additionally, she manages 250 student's academic plans, transfer rates, retention, and graduation, along with recruiting students into the TRIO program.
 
Prior to working at Trinidad State College, Lucero spent 14 months (August 2019-November 2020) as a Marketing and Promotions Coordinator with CSU Pueblo Athletics. During her time with the Pack, she assisted with marketing of all college sporting events, coordinating logistics for donor hospitality room at home athletic events, fulfilled corporate partner contracts, assisted with fundraising events, and coordinated and tracked community service for 500 student-athletes. Also supervised student work-study students, assisted with ticketing office, and coordinated the student-athlete awards recognition program.
 
Before working at CSU Pueblo, Lucero was a four-year women's golfer at Adams State University. In her time with the Grizzlies, Lucero served as the team captain for four years and worked as a work study student for the Adams State athletic department. She worked game-day operations at Adams State for football, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's soccer, baseball and softball, which included set-up, take down, ticket operations, helped coordinate activities during and after events and coordinated tailgate tickets at home football games.
 
During her four years in Alamosa, Lucero also worked at Cattails Golf Course as a Pro Shop Assistant.
 
Lucero graduated from Hoehne High School in 2015 and attended classes through concurrent enrollment at Trinidad State College as a junior and senior in high school. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Management from Adams State University in 2019 and is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Sports Administration from Adams State University.
 
TRANSACTIONS: CSU Pueblo Athletics names Brooke Lucero as the department's Associate Athletic Director for Operations and Community Relations.
