Gershon to Depart Chatham Men's Hockey

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - August 14, 2023 - Chatham Vice President of Athletics and Recreation Leonard Trevino announced Monday that Men's Hockey Head Coach Michael Gershon will be leaving the program.

"I want to thank Coach Gershon for everything he has done for our program," Trevino said. "He has established our program as a top tier program in the UCHC. He leaves the program in a good position for future success with a strong returning roster and an impressive recruiting class. We wish Coach Gershon all the best."

Gershon has accepted an Associate Head Coach position with the Sioux City Musketeers of the United States Hockey League (USHL).

In three seasons with Chatham, Gershon posted a 28-29-7 record, leaving the Cougars with the most wins in program history. Under Gershon, the Cougars earned their first postseason win in program history in 2021-22 and their first winning season in 2022-23.

Trevino has named Assistant Coach Bill Connelly as Interim Head Coach. Connelly has been with the program for each of its six seasons.

"Over the next week we will determine our next steps as we move forward to fill the head coach position," Trevino shared. " It is our goal to continue the upward trajectory of our men's hockey program."
