DANVILLE, Ky. - Centre College announced the hiring of CheyAnn Knudsen as its new head women's golf coach, Director of Athletics Brad Fields '98 announced earlier today.

"We are excited to welcome CheyAnn Knudsen to the Centre family. CheyAnn was an impressive competitor at the Division III level, on the national stage, and has experience also working and recruiting at a top 25 Division III institution," explains Fields. "After a thorough search, we found CheyAnn to have the perfect mix of experience and enthusiasm for a shared vision for the next steps for Centre Women's Golf.

I would take a moment, too, to thank Jane Hopkinson-Wood for the tremendous last five seasons in building Centre Women's Golf into a top 10 program, and CheyAnn is ready to build on that foundation.  I'm thrilled for our current, and future, Colonels for the bright days ahead."

Knudsen comes to Centre from her alma mater, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where she served as an assistant coach each of the last two seasons, helping the Warhawks win the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and qualify for the NCAA Tournament in both seasons.

As a player at Whitewater, Knudsen ended her career in 2021 as one of the most decorated players in program history. She was an All-WIAC First Team selection in each of her seasons with the Warhawks, earning the WIAC Player of the Year award in 2018-19 and tournament medalist honors in 2017-18. In addition to her two conference titles as a member of the UWW coaching staff, Knudsen was also part of two conference champions as a player, earning an automatic qualifier for a pair of NCAA Tournaments.

Knudsen's name appears in the Wisconsin-Whitewater women's golf record book 17 times, as she owns the program record for both lowest 18-hole score and lowest 72-hole score, the latter achieved at the NCAA Championships in 2019.
