Neumann Hired as D-II Strength & Conditioning Coach

Former CSP student-athlete and Carleton College strength coach joins SCSU Athletics
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Interim Director of Athletics Holly Schreiner has hired Josh Neumann as the Division-II Strength & Conditioning Coach, as announced on Thursday. Neumann, who will officially begin his duties on Jan. 4, joins the Huskies after stops at Concordia St. Paul and Carleton College.
"I am so blessed and honored to be a part of St. Cloud State," said Neumann. "This is a dream come true and a huge milestone in my professional development and I'm so excited to get started! Go Huskies!"
Since August 2021, Neumann has served as the Associate Director of Sports Performance at Carleton College, where he trained and implemented strength and conditioning programs for approximately 400 student-athletes across 20 sports. Neumann designed and tailored workouts in coordination with coaching staffs to help student-athletes reach their full potential.
Prior to his time at Carleton, Neumann worked as an assistant strength and coaching intern at Concordia St. Paul while finishing his bachelor's degree. Here, he evaluated individual knowledge, skills and strengths, assigned team positions to maximize talent areas, and established benchmarks for performance and assigned team positions.
Neumann played three seasons of collegiate football, first at Pearl River Community College (2016-17), then at NSIC member Concordia St. Paul (2018). He also served as the Defensive Line coach at Stone High School in Wiggins, Miss., from April 2016 to Jan. 2018.
Neumann, a Carriere, Miss., native, is a two-time graduate of Concordia University, St. Paul, earning his Bachelor of Science in Sports Psychology in December 2019 and his Master of Science in Exercise Science in August 2022. Josh and his wife, Jayme, a Golden Valley native, met at Concordia St. Paul and have a son, J.P.
