Bolivar, Mo. – SBU Director of Athletics Clark Sheehy announces Cooper Martin as the Head Beach Volleyball and Assistant Volleyball Coach.
 
"We are so excited to add Coach Cooper Martin to our staff as our head Beach Volleyball coach and assistant indoor coach." Sheehy said, "Coach Martin brings valuable experience and will be a great culture fit here at SBU!  Coach Martin was a college volleyball player and we are excited to see our programs flourish with her leadership.  We are thrilled that she is a Bearcat!  It's a great day to be a Bearcat!!"
 
"I am very excited to be a Bearcat! I look forward to growing our beach program and building upon the success the team established last year. I am also honored to be able to join Coach Hanger and get to be a part of the exciting things happening for the indoor program. I'm ready to get started!" – Martin said.
 
Martin joins the Bearcats after coaching at Lubbock Christian High School for the last two years. She was the coach in both indoor and beach, leading the team to consecutive state championships both seasons.
 
Prior to, she coached at Southcrest Christian School for the 2020-21 school year for both indoor and beach programs. During that year and the first year at Lubbock Christian, she coached at NextLevel Volleyball Club for 2 years.
 
As an athlete, she played for four years at Dallas Baptist University in Texas. She earned an All-Tournament team award in her senior season. She graduated that May (2019) with her Bachelors in Sports Management.
 
Martin has also spent time playing indoor and beach volleyball for Texas Advantage Volleyball Club (TAV) for five years. As well she coached for two years. In 2015, she spent a week in California where she played with and learned from professional beach volleyball player Brittany Hochevar. Hochevar played in many professional beach tournaments, as well she teamed up with numerous Olympic athletes including 3x gold medalist Misty May Treanor.
