Thayer '21 and Salewski '22 Tabbed to Lead Nazareth Dance Team

ROCHESTER, NY – Kristin Thayer '21 and Natalie Salewski '22 have been appointed by Nazareth Athletics Director Pete Bothner to lead the dance team.
 
Thayer, a member of the Nazareth Dance Team for five years (2017-2022) and Salewski, a member for four (2018-2022), each received their bachelor's in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Both Thayer and Salewski are currently obtaining their Master's in Speech-Language Pathology from Nazareth.
 
The duo served as co-captains of the Nazareth dance team for two seasons and were responsible for co-leading practices, along with choreographing for halftime routines at Nazareth basketball games and the Universal Dance Association New England Dance Championships and College Dance Team Nationals. They also assisted with administrative tasks including selecting music, costumes, and researching competitions during their tenure.
 
"Kristin and Natalie have shown strong dedication to the Nazareth Dance Team as athletes and we are excited to have them expand their role to lead the program," said Nazareth Athletics Director, Pete Bothner. 
 
Currently, Thayer and Salewski are members of MAYHEM Dance Company in Rochester, a professional modern dance company that rehearses and performs dance pieces at festivals and showcases. 
 
Outside of Nazareth, Thayer has served as an assistant and guest coach at Creative Dance Arts in Ballston Lake, NY for ages 13-18. She also has served as a color guard coach and choreographer for Shenendehowa and Victor High Schools.   
 
Salewski, who is currently a graduate assistant in the Student Engagement and Leadership Office at Nazareth, was a student of Liverpool School of Dance for seven years in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, and lyrical. She also taught classes are developed yearly recital dances from age 12-18.
