Scott Yeakle Golf Coach New Hire

Yeakle Named Elizabethtown College Head Men's & Women's Golf Coach

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.-- Elizabethtown College Athletics announced the hiring of Scott Yeakle as the new Head Men's & Women's Golf Coach.

Yeakle brings more than 20 years of coaching experience to Etown after serving stints as a head golf professional at numerous clubs throughout Pennsylvania while also coaching at several high schools and higher-education institutions.  

"Golf is a game for a lifetime, and I am looking forward to helping Elizabethtown's student-athletes enhance both their golf game and their college experience", Yeakle said. "Hopefully they will continue to play the game long after their Elizabethtown years have come to an end."

During his time as a head golf professional at courses throughout western and central Pa., Yeakle supervised all departments within the club/resort and was responsible for marketing and promotion efforts. He was also involved in conducting local and state golf events, developed instructional programs to help players of all skill levels, and coached and taught the game of golf.

Yeakle's coaching experience at the high school level includes 10 years at Lower Dauphin, Hershey, and Steelton-Highspire. He has also cumulated five years of college coaching experience at Dickinson College and YTI Career Institute.

"I believe his resume as a coach and head golf professional provide him the tools necessary to serve the men and women on our teams. It's an exciting time for our golf teams and I look forward to supporting Scott and our student-athletes."

In 1996, Yeakle became a Class A Member of the PGA of America. He was one of four selected as a member of The PGA of America's National Tournament Operations team.

Yeakle graduated from Central Penn College with a degree in automotive technology. He also attended the PGA Business School I & II. Yeakle will officially join the Blue Jays as head coach on August 14
