Josh Roberson Named Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance

DETROIT -- Wayne State University Director of Athletics Erika Wallace has announced that Josh Roberson has been named the WSU Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance.

Originally from Highland Park, Mich., Roberson comes to Detroit from Davenport University where he had served in the same role since September of 2021.

"I'm excited to welcome Josh to the Wayne State Athletic Department!," stated Wallace.  "His experience and passion for collegiate athletics is exactly what we need as we continue to expand upon our Student Support Services unit."

Roberson played college basketball at Grand Valley State University for two seasons (2009-11) before graduating from GVSU in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in Sports Leadership.  He later received his master's degree in Sports Administration from Arkansas State University in 2020.

Prior to his tenure at Davenport, Roberson was the Youth Sports Program Manager for the University of Denver from March of 2021 to September of 2021.  He previously was the recreation supervisor at the Grand Rapids Kroc Center (2014-2017) and was the middle school athletic director for Wyoming Public Schools (2017-2020).
 
He and his wife, Caliyah, reside in Detroit with their son, Jireh.
