Giotta Becomes Head Athletic Director for Devils Athletics

Madison, NJ (August 2)- Co-interim Athletic Director and Head Women's Soccer Coach Kristin Giotta will become the FDU-Florham Director of Athletics effective immediately on August 2, 2023, as announced by Fairleigh Dickinson University President Michael J. Avaltroni.

"Kristin has been a long-time influential contributor to our division III athletics program, both as a highly successful coach and more recently as a talented administrator serving as interim athletics director." FDU President Michael Avaltroni stated. "She has well demonstrated the vision and leadership skills needed to continue to raise the level of our athletics program and I am confident that she will lead the program to many outstanding accomplishments in the years to come." 

Giotta becomes the fifth athletic director in FDU-Florham history after serving last year as a Co-interim Athletic Director for the Devils. Previously, she was the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance, a position she started in 2018 as well becoming the Senior Women's Administrator for Florham Athletics in 2019.

Kristin joined FDU-Florham in 2006 when she became the Head Women's Soccer Coach and will be going into her 18th season in that role. During her time as the head coach, she has compiled a program record 173 wins with nine seasons having 10+ wins. She has coached 34 All-MAC Freedom selections, five NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Region/United Soccer Coaches All-Region IV Selections, a Co-Player of the Year in 2010 and four Devils Athletics Hall of Famers, Brittany Kanickij (2016), Lora Fink (2018) and Michelle Hickey (2019), and Britini Calleo (2022).

Giotta was the 2022 ECAC Coach of the Year as well as the 2010 MAC Freedom Coach of the Year and has led the Devils to postseason play in 12 seasons including each of the last seven years and 12 of the last 13 years. Postseason play has included nine MAC Freedom Playoff appearances and nine ECAC Playoff appearances including last season in 2022, she helped lead Florham to an ECAC Championship.

I would like to thank President Avaltroni, Dr. Rohan, Dr. Baker and all community members that were involved in the search process and for this opportunity," Krisitin Giotta said. "We have a tremendous staff and dedicated student-athletes who are fully invested in advancing Devils Athletics. I am also excited to work with the University to help ensure the educational and strategic goals are met, as we continue to propel FDU forward."
