GLVC Inks Partnership with Hudl, Announces 2023-24 GLVCSN Pay-Per-View Coverage

INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) has announced a multi-year partnership with Hudl to put select regular season and championship broadcasts behind a paywall, the league announced on Friday. The three-year partnership begins this fall and runs through the 2026 season.

The GLVC has been working with Hudl – formerly BlueFrame Technology and Volar Video – since 2014 when the GLVC Sports Network (GLVCSN) was created as the first Division II league-wide digital streaming network. The Conference initially dipped its toes in pay-per-view (PPV) coverage during the 2022 GLVC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championship Tournaments and followed that successful venture in the 2022-23 season with the GLVC Volleyball Championship Tournament, the Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championship Tournaments again, as well as the Baseball Championship Tournament.

“We are excited to continue working with our long-time partners at Hudl and believe this initiative is the next step in our progression with the new era of pay-per-view,” said GLVC Commissioner Jim Naumovich. “Endorsed by the league as a whole, including the GLVC the Council of Presidents, moving select sports behind a paywall will provide a new revenue stream for all 14 member schools and the Conference office.”

Included in this new PPV partnership will be both non-conference and Conference football, volleyball, men’s basketball, and women’s basketball regular season contests, as well as Championship broadcasts for men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball, men’s and women’s swimming, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s lacrosse, softball, and baseball.

“Hudl is thrilled to build pay-per-view into our long-term partnership with the GLVC Sports Network," said Ben Kant, head of streaming at Hudl. "All member schools in the GLVC will have access to revenue-generating, premium broadcasts for their regular seasons and championships on a reliable platform, and continue to easily allow fans to cheer on their favorite team from anywhere. Through our partnership with the GLVC, we're able to showcase the power of revenue sharing models across Division II.”

Fans will have three different purchase options for regular-season broadcasts, including an individual broadcast cost of $10, a sport pass for $50 (volleyball) or $75 (football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball), and a full GLVC package for all four sports at $100. The cost for each Championship will vary, with more details announced closer to each event.

Viewers can access GLVCSN content throughout the year on GLVCSN.com, the GLVCSN iOS and Android mobile apps, as well as the GLVCSN OTT apps on Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Android TV.
