KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Capitalizing on a successful model launch in 2021-22, the MIAA has announced that revenue distribution for the MIAA Network streaming platform increased by over 27% during the 2022-23 academic year.

During the 2022-23 academic year, MIAA institutions broadcasted 1,493 live contests on the MIAA Network and resulted in over $500,000 of net revenue distributed to conference member athletic departments. This was the second year of the new MIAA Network subscription model developed with Hudl, formerly BlueFrame Technology.

"We are so excited about how the MIAA Network has grown the last few years. Our league has invested a lot of money, time, and talent into developing one of the best athletics conference streaming services in the nation and we are looking forward to continued growth in our coverage of student-athletes for their families and fans to follow," said Northwest Missouri State Director of Athletics and MIAA Network Task Force Chair Andy Peterson.

This past year, all MIAA football, women's soccer, volleyball, men's basketball, women's basketball, baseball and softball conference regular season contests were streamed live on the MIAA Network.

“We're thrilled that Hudl has been chosen to power the MIAA Network well into the future," said Ben Kant, Head of Streaming at Hudl. "Through our partnership with the MIAA, we've been able to showcase the power of revenue sharing models across Division II. This partnership paved the way for others to follow suit, and we're looking forward to creating more engaging livestream experiences for fans of the MIAA and across the conferences of Division II."

MIAA member institution athletic departments are not restricted in how they use their Network revenue distributions, buy many are using these resources to enhance broadcast equipment and pay personnel to broadcast additional live events this upcoming academic year.

The MIAA has used Hudl as its exclusive streaming partner for the past six academic years and in the fall of 2021, became the first Division II conference to have all content behind a paywall. In addition, the MIAA became the first Hudl college client to surpass $2 million in gross receipts.

Fans will be able to purchase MIAA Network All-Access, Monthly and Game Passes starting on August 17 for the 2023-24 academic year.
