Carmack Resigns as Head Women's Basketball Coach

MEMPHIS – Christian Brothers University Director of Athletics Chris Parker has announced the resignation of Head Women's Basketball Coach Jessie Carmack, on Wednesday, July 19, to pursue an opportunity with the NCAA.

"During her time at CBU, Coach Carmack left a lasting impact on not only our women's basketball program, but also our athletics department," Parker said. "It is such an incredible opportunity that she simply couldn't pass up, and we are so thankful for her and the impact we know she will make in this new position."

Carmack spent four seasons at the helm of the CBU women's basketball team, finishing with 37 wins. The 37 victories are the fifth-most in program history. The 12 wins for the 2022-23 team are the second-most since 2013-14, and the nine Gulf South Conference victories are tied for third-most for CBU since it joined the Gulf South Conference.

The Clarksville, Ohio native coached four All-GSC selections, including Bryne Lytle, who was also named the first WBCA All-American in program history.

"I am incredibly thankful for the last four years, and am looking forward to a pursuing a career outside of coaching," Carmack said. "To the CBU women's basketball family: You will forever have my heart. Our family is, and will always be, special. I can not wait to cheer you on from afar and watch you continue to do amazing things."

The national search, for a new head women's basketball coach, will begin immediately.
