D'Youville Names Rogacki Assistant AD for Athletic Communications

BUFFALO – D'Youville University and the Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, Ona Halladay, announced the hiring of Andy Rogacki as the new Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Communications.

"What we need in this role in this role is, yes someone with experience, but more so someone who has leadership ability, has the ability to communicate, problem solve, and put their head down to do the work that is needed to continue to promote D'Youville athletics and make us better," Halladay said. "That came through very clearly to me and the rest of the search committee. It has been proven through his work and the product that has been produced that the ability is there. We need people on our athletic leadership team that are great humans, great leaders, and continue to support our coaches and student-athletes in a way that provides them with that Division II experience. We're thrilled to have Andy here at D'Youville."

"First and foremost, I want to thank Ona Halladay and the rest of the search committee for their consideration for this position," said Rogacki. "I've wanted to work my way back to a four-year institution and move closer to where I grew up. When I came on my visit, I was welcomed by the athletic administration and coaches and felt like this is the right place to continue my career. Also, the fact that D'Youville was in the process of being a full-fledged member of the NCAA Division II was something that excited me and wanted to be a part of. As my great grandfather once said, 'Opportunity is out there; it's knowing when to bend over and pick it up.'"

Prior to his arrival at D'Youville, Rogacki was appointed to the first full-time Communications Coordinator of Athletics position at Jamestown Community College where he had served since October of 2019.

During his time at JCC, Rogacki served on the NJCAA DIII Men's & Women's Golf National Championship committee along with the George Bataitis Open committee. Rogacki's main role for the NJCAA DIII Men's & Women's Golf National Championships was photographer and official scorer, relaying all photographs and statistics to the NJCAA national office. Rogacki had also played an integral role in building a strong social media following for the school's athletic programs, growing the following over 100% on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

While at JCC, Rogacki served as the primary contact for all 15 of the Jayhawks' athletic programs, including writing news and feature releases, creating and distributing athletic publications, respond to request for information regarding athletics, while also performing other duties within the department.

Always looking to volunteer for sporting events in and around the area, Rogacki volunteered at the 2022 DI NCAA Men's Basketball Championship first and second round games held at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo. Taking the role as the Duplication Center Supervisor, Rogacki headed a team of volunteers who made duplications of game notes, first half boxscores, complete game boxscores, and press conference quotes. Roagcki also served as the site supervisor for the Section 6 Boys & Girls Class C & D Basketball Sectionals hosted at JCC throughout his time at the institution.

Prior to JCC, Rogacki spent the 2018-19 academic year at Division II Newberry College in Newberry, S.C. as the Athletic Communications Assistant. Rogacki was the primary contact for the South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Championship and Super Region II Championship wrestling team, who placed ninth at the 2019 Division II Wrestling Championships. He was also the primary contact for volleyball, men's lacrosse and men's and women's tennis.

While at Newberry, Rogacki volunteered at the first and second round of 2019 Division I NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament held in Columbia, S.C.

Prior to Newberry, Rogacki served as Sports Information Graduate Assistant from 2016-18 at Alfred University. There, he was the primary contact for men's and women's soccer, men's and women's basketball, and men's and women's lacrosse while earning his MBA.
