Mandie Nocita Resigns as Head Softball Coach

STORM LAKE, Iowa (Dec. 16, 2022) – Buena Vista University Director of Athletics, Scott Brown, has announced that BVU Head Softball Coach, Mandie Nocita, has submitted her resignation after eight seasons at the helm.

Nocita guided the program to new heights since her arrival on campus in 2015, including four 20-win campaigns. Her tenure was capped this past spring, as she guided the Beavers to their first American Rivers Conference regular season title since 1996 as well as securing their first NCAA Regional Tournament berth during that time.

During eight seasons in charge, Nocita compiled an overall record of 148-130 (50-64 A-R-C) while notching her 100th career win during the COVID shortened 2020 season. This past spring, she was named the A-R-C Coach of the Year for the first time and coached her first A-R-C Position Player of the Year. Overall, the Beavers had 16 all-conference selections, eight All-Region honorees and one First Team Capital One Academic All-District player in Nocita's tenure.

"I want to thank Mandie for her eight seasons leading the Beaver Softball program and for her unwavering dedication to her student-athletes," says Brown.  " I wish her the very best in her future endeavors."

BVU assistant coach Sarah Richardson will serve as interim head coach.
