On-campus general manager added to resources

Marquette University's Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has joined the full-time, on-campus General Manager (GM) Program launched by Altius Sports Partners, the Name, Image and Likeness launch program for elite athletics departments. ASP will hire, onboard, support, and manage an NIL GM placed on campus in Milwaukee furthering the school's NIL efforts to ensure Golden Eagle athletes have the education, tools and resources to maximize opportunities and effectively navigate the NIL space.

Bill Scholl, Marquette VP and Director of Athletics, stated: "We are looking forward to expanding our partnership with ASP as we continue to navigate the ever-changing NIL landscape. We want to provide all of our student-athletes the resources necessary to maximize their respective opportunities and the addition of an on-campus general manager is the next step in that process."

This latest move by Marquette underscores its commitment to prepare student-athletes to capitalize on their NIL rights and establish widespread NIL awareness among the school's internal and external stakeholders. The GM position will oversee all day-to-day operations and manage a robust NIL infrastructure including education, programming, monitoring, and working alongside Marquette's athletics compliance office to ensure adherence to rules and regulations. The on-campus GM will work closely with Marquette to enhance the athlete experience through ongoing programming and resources.

Brittney Whiteside, ASP VP of Collegiate Partnerships, remarked: "We are very excited to grow our partnership with Marquette Athletics by adding a General Manager on campus to bolster their outstanding NIL efforts. We're focused on identifying a collaborative leader for the position who will hit the ground running and have direct impact on Golden Eagle athletes."

Launched in July 2022 the GM program centralizes NIL support services as a standalone vertical within athletics departments. The program includes comprehensive education of all stakeholders, as well as a customized approach for each department. ASP prioritizes development of student-athlete NIL while fostering collaboration with institutional partners and university supporters.

ASP became Marquette's NIL strategic planning and educational consultant in March 2022, a partnership designed to further bolster its athlete-driven NIL program to benefit all men's and women's sports programs.

The GM initiative is an extension of ASP's services, which are rooted in navigating and keeping school partners ahead of the curve and compliantly optimizing NIL activities for their athletes. As ASP expands its GM Program, it will continue to support all school partners through an advisory role in addition to providing ongoing innovative and strategic guidance on policy and initiatives and customized educational support.
