Women’s Bowling to Become Oklahoma Christian’s Sixteenth NCAA Program

Oklahoma City, Okla. - The Oklahoma Christian women's bowling program will become the department's sixteenth NCAA Division II member sport when they take the lanes for the 2023-2024 season.

Making the move, the Lady Eagles will compete in the NCAA as an independent in their first year. OC will also maintain their United States Bowling Congress Collegiate membership giving them two opportunities to at post-season tournaments.

The Eagles will compete in nine NCAA tournaments and over one-hundred matches beginning in October and going into April for postseason play. Different from USBC events, NCAA events are head-to-head matchups, allowing the Eagles to tally a win-loss record.

"I could not be more excited for our ladies and the opportunities this will bring to our program." Head coach James Hayes said. "I am grateful to the university administration who made this happen for us. I cannot wait to be back on the lanes in the fall representing OC at the NCAA level."

Oklahoma Christian's first event will be in early October, with the schedule to be released soon.
