Knight Claims Head Coach, Drops Interim Title

Clarks Summit, PA - With almost a full year of recruiting, planning, and coaching under his belt, former player, Joshua Knight (Danville, PA.) has been named head coach for the Clarks Summit University Baseball program, dropping the previously held interim title. With the program on the rise, the Defenders collected an additional three wins from the previous year under Knight's lead. The most notable being against King's College on March 16, 2023, a first for the program since the first showdown in 2014.

"He has shown a great knowledge of baseball and a desire to mentor student athletes for the glory of God. As a former student, he displays a great love for the mission of the school and I am excited to continue to watch him learn and grow in his coaching career," remarks Director of Athletics, Mike Show.

Attending Clarks Summit University from 2018-2022, Knight graduated with bachelor's in business administration with an emphasis on Sports Management, where he also made an impact as a two-time all-conference athlete in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC). During his time as a student, Knight was a Youth Baseball Instructor at a Pro Baseball Clinic in Sunbury, PA in 2019 and 2021, overseeing upwards of 100 athletes from kindergarten to 12th grades. His coaching experience began at the age 16, where he was Practice Assistant for the Danville Little League team in 2015. His leadership goes far beyond coaching as he was a captain on the baseball team as well as a Resident Assistant (RA) from 2020 to his graduation.
