Cook Named First Head Esports Coach

MORRISTOWN, NJ - Glen Cook was named the first ever Head Esports Coach on October 25, 2022. Saint Elizabeth University Director of Athletics Tom Wagenblast expressed, "Coach Glen brings a wealth of knowledge on the entire gaming community, but specifically with esports in the state of New Jersey."

With over 15 years of experience in competitive gaming, Cook's skill set includes playing, coaching, recruiting, and event management at both the national and international level. Outside of esports, his professional experience lies in student success and support. As Wagenblast stated, "his knowledge of recruiting combined with his competitive gaming experience makes him the perfect fit to become the first esports coach in Saint Elizabeth history."

The Saint Elizabeth University Esports program was announced in May of 2021 preceding the opening of a new state-of-the-art esports arena located on campus. "The esports facility at Saint Elizabeth is second to none," said Cook. Open to all Saint Elizabeth students Monday through Friday from 3-10pm, it can be found inside Mahoney Library. As Cook declared, the facility "has quickly become an incredible addition to the campus community."
