Mallory Bahr Named Head Coach of Women's Lacrosse

PAINESVILLE, Ohio –- Lake Erie College Athletics announced today that Mallory Bahr has been officially named the next head coach of the Storm women's lacrosse program.

"I am really excited about starting a new era here for Lake Erie Women's Lacrosse, said Bahr. "I wanted to thank Athletic Director Molly Hoffman and everybody else at Lake Erie who have helped me obtain this opportunity for the chance to lead the team and can't wait to get started. I cannot wait to get to work developing relationships with Lake Erie alumni, current student-athletes, and their families. I would also like to thank my family, friends, and mentors who have led me to this position."

"Coach Bahr is an excellent addition to our staff and I am thrilled that she is the new leader of our women's lacrosse team, said Molly Hoffman, Director of Athletics. "Her coaching background has given her a wealth of knowledge that suits the needs of our lacrosse program.  I am excited to see her bring success back to the Storm Women's Lacrosse program."

Bahr joins Lake Erie after starting the women's lacrosse program at Spalding University and is a passionate and dedicated leader in the world of women's lacrosse. 

Bahr began her collegiate coaching career at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama where she served as Assistant Coach. As an assistant for the Hawks, Bahr was responsible for recruiting and planning team conditioning. She was also in charge of maintaining academic plans for each member of the team.

After that she spent time as the head coach at Beloit College, Tennessee Wesleyan, and Johnson and Wales-Denver. During her time at Tennessee Wesleyan she guided the Bulldogs to an 11-4 record during the 2017 season and coached three All-Americans.

During her playing career, Bahr was a member of the North Central College Women's Lacrosse Program. When she was in college, she mentored freshman to stay on track academically and physically, throughout college.

Bahr received her Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management from North Central College. She obtained a Masters Degree from Ohio University in Sports Administration.

"I am also beyond excited to grow this program to the true potential that I know it has," said Bahr. "I firmly believe in the power of teamwork and resilience, while instilling the values we need to be successful in every practice and game. You can expect a coach who is determined to achieve greatness and I want players who want to be a part of the Storm Family who are ready to achieve greatness.
