Donald Grigsby Appointed Associate Athletic Director for Sport Performance & Student Athlete Well-Being at Lincoln Memorial University

Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) is pleased to announce the appointment of Donald Grigsby as the new Associate Athletic Director for Sport Performance & Student Athlete Well-Being. In this role, Mr. Grigsby will oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive sports performance programs, ensuring the well-being and success of LMU's student-athletes.
 
"I would like to thank Dr. Jody Goins, President Clayton Hess, and Dr. Pete Debusk for believing in me and providing me this opportunity to serve Lincoln Memorial University as Associate Athletic Director for Sport Performance and Athlete Wellness", stated Grigsby.  "I am extremely excited to work with our student-athletes to provide them with the most innovative and the highest quality health care accessible to enhance their athletic performance and improve their overall well-being. It will be my goal to provide our student-athletes with the proper resources needed to build healthy behaviors that will last a lifetime.  It's an honor to continue to serve my alma mater!"

With an extensive background in athletics, counseling, and sports medicine, Donald Grigsby brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new position. He holds a Master of Education in Counseling and Guidance, which he earned from Lincoln Memorial University in 1994, and a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training, completed in 1991.
 
Throughout his career, Mr. Grigsby has held various leadership positions at LMU. He most recently served as the Director of Athletics, a role he assumed in 2021. Prior to that, he held the position of Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine from 2019 to 2021 and served as the Head Athletic Trainer and Instructor from 2011 to 2019. Mr. Grigsby has been an integral part of the LMU Athletics Department, contributing to the success of the student-athletes and promoting their overall well-being.
 
Before joining LMU, Mr. Grigsby gained valuable experience working as a Clinical Manager and Athletic Trainer at Tri-State Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation and Kentucky Orthopedic Clinic. He also served as Vice President for Development and Athletic Trainer at Champion Sports Training and held the position of Sports Medicine Coordinator at St. Mary's Health System. Mr. Grigsby began his career as an Athletic Trainer at HealthSouth Rehabilitation.
 
In his new role as the Associate Athletic Director for Sport Performance & Student Athlete Well Being, Mr. Grigsby will utilize his diverse background to enhance the sports performance programs at LMU. He will work closely with coaches, trainers, and other staff members to develop comprehensive training and conditioning regimens that promote the physical and mental well-being of student-athletes.
 
Donald Grigsby's appointment is a testament to his dedication and commitment to Lincoln Memorial University. His extensive knowledge and experience will undoubtedly contribute to the continued success and growth of LMU's athletic program.
