Complete Release ----- With one championship left, baseball, the Stanford Cardinal has clinched the 2022-23 LEARFIELD Directors' Cup for 26th. While baseball still needs to finish, Stanford has advanced to the Baseball College World Series, and there are not enough points remaining for the University of Texas to catch the Cardinal who have 1,339.00 total points to Texas' 1,306.50 points.

Stanford claimed three national titles – men's gymnastics, women's rowing and women's water polo - while also tallying five top-3 finishes (women's swimming and diving, women's golf, softball, women's tennis, and men's outdoor track and field). Overall, Stanford has scored in 2 of 4 countable sports (baseball not included), along with 15 additional total sports. The following scores were removed – women's cross country and soccer, women's gymnastics, men's indoor track and field, wrestling, women's outdoor track and field, and fencing - due to the maximum additional sports to be counted is 15.

Complete Release ----- Indiana Institute of Technology (Indiana Tech) becomes just the ninth different institution to take home the LEARFIELD Directors' Cup, capturing first for the 2022-23 year with 867.50 overall points. The Warriors have finished in the top-five each of the last two seasons, finishing fourth overall in the 2021-22 final standings and placing second overall in 2020-21.

Overall, Indiana Tech scored in 11 total sports, including all 4 sports that must be counted towards the final standings (women's basketball, men's basketball, men's soccer, and women's volleyball). Two sports were omitted in the final standings – men's volleyball and softball – due to Indiana Tech scoring in more (11) than the maximum number of countable sports allowed (9). The Warriors took home the women's indoor track and field title.

The LEARFIELD Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.
