WORCESTER, Mass. – Clark University Director of Athletics and Recreation, Trish Cronin, has officially named
Ashley Stevens the second head coach in program history on Monday.
Stevens spent the 2023 campaign as the program's interim head coach and led the program to its most victories in a single season.
"Ashley did a fantastic job in the spring and I could not be more excited to have her become our head coach going forward," said Cronin. "Since her arrival in January, Ashley has created a positive culture within the program and I am looking forward to continuing to see growth within the team as well as within the department."
In Steven's first season at the helm, the Cougars won five games and posted a 4-4 record at home, including NEWMAC wins over Emerson and Mount Holyoke. Offensively, the team saw four players score over 20 points, including
Elizabeth Liakos (36) and
Kiley Simmons (35) who each tallied north of 30 points. The Cougars were ranked second in the conference in ground balls per game (21.93) and fourth in caused turnovers per contest (9.47).
Prior to Clark, Stevens spent six years as the head coach at King's College and Intramural Director. Stevens has also coached at Green Mountain College (2014-2016) and was an assistant at Randolph College for a season. She graduated from Randolph in 2013 with a degree in Sports and Exercise Studies, while being a four-year starter in both lacrosse and soccer.
