Eisold Named New WLC Women’s Soccer Head Coach

Former men’s soccer standout returns to lead women’s soccer program

MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College has named former men's soccer standout Matt Eisold as the new women's soccer head coach, Director of Athletics Skip Noon announced today. He becomes the eighth head coach in program history.

"I am blessed and honored to be chosen to lead the Wisconsin Lutheran College women's soccer program," said Eisold. "The opportunity to coach at my alma mater and provide the opportunity for student-athletes to have a fantastic experience that I know WLC provides is a responsibility that I don't take lightly. God has blessed me on every step of my soccer journey and I am excited to get started."

Since 2013, Eisold has served as head coach and goalkeeping director of several boys' and girls' teams at Elmbrook United Soccer Club, which formed after the merger between Brookfield Soccer Club and Elm Grove Soccer Club. He spent six seasons (2010-2015) as an assistant at WLC on Joe Luedke's men's soccer coaching staff and was the junior varsity girls' head coach at Wisconsin Lutheran High School for three years (2009-2011).

The Burlington native played professionally for the Milwaukee Wave and Milwaukee Torrent, winning an MASL championship with the Wave in 2018-2019.

"We are excited to have Matt lead our women's soccer program," said Noon. "Having been both a former student-athlete and coach at his alma mater will aid in providing our student-athletes with great experiences both on and off the field."

A four-year (2006-2009) letterwinner on the Warriors men's soccer team, Eisold played 69 of 73 career games in net and was a three-time All-Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference performer. He earned First Team All-NACC and All-State Honorable Mention honors as a senior after leading the league in saves (148), save percentage (.836), and saves per game (8.22). Eisold concluded his WLC career with 19 victories and 398 saves, which ranks second all-time in the NACC. He graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in Spanish and received his MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2013.

Eisold and his wife, Andrea, live in Brookfield with their daughter, Adeline.
