Jill Redmond Joins MVC Staff as Deputy Commissioner

ST. LOUIS – Jill Redmond will join the Missouri Valley Conference staff and serve as the league’s Deputy Commissioner, MVC Commissioner Jeff Jackson has announced. 
 
Before coming to the MVC, Redmond most recently served as Executive Senior Associate Commissioner at the Atlantic 10 Conference, a role she’s held since 2021.   Redmond joined the Atlantic 10 Conference staff in 2009 as Director of Compliance, was promoted to Assistant Commissioner in 2011, Associate Commissioner in 2015, Senior Associate Commissioner in 2017, and Executive Senior Associate Commissioner in 2021.

At the A-10, Redmond was responsible for leading the league's efforts and overseeing the A-10 Commission on Racial Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.  She’s also worked directly with the Commissioner and the Presidents' Council in all areas of governance and policy development, membership initiatives and special projects, like the league’s celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Title IX.
 
As a member of the senior leadership team, she contributed to the development, management and evaluation of all strategic initiatives and business priorities; provided administrative and strategic support to the A-10 Presidents Council and Athletic Directors; managed all NCAA and A-10 governance matters, national and legal issues; led the nomination process to enhance the A-10 representation on key NCAA committees, and directly supported representatives serving within the NCAA committee structure; and also served as the liaison to the FAR Council, Compliance, and Student-Athlete Welfare committees, while contributing to the leadership and strategic decision-making for other standing and sport committees.
 
Redmond was nationally recognized with the 2017 Nell Jackson Administrator of the Year award by Women Leaders in College Sports.  She currently serves on the NCAA Division I Committee on Infractions, and she has also previously served on the Division I Nominating Committee, the Division I Administration Cabinet, the Awards, Benefits, Expenses and Financial Aid Cabinet and the Division I Amateurism Fact-Finding committee.  Redmond, who also has worked at the University of Richmond, Dartmouth College, and Benedictine University, completed her undergraduate degree at DePaul University, where she was a track and field student-athlete, and she earned her MBA from Benedictine.
