Syracuse, N.Y. —Syracuse field hockey head coach Ange Bradley is retiring after a 16-year tenure that turned the Orange into one of the most consistent winners in the sport.
Bradley steps away after winning 75% of her games at Syracuse (246-82), including a national championship in 2015. SU’s field hockey title was the first won by any women’s program at Syracuse University.
Bradley’s resume at Syracuse includes 13 NCAA Tournament invitations, four Final Fours, two national championship game appearances, an ACC regular season title, four Big East season titles and two Big East Tournament Championships. Bradley mentored 43 All-Americans and two Olympians at Syracuse.
“I have enjoyed my time at Syracuse and am proud of this program’s achievements,” says Bradley. “I’d like to extend my appreciation to everyone that worked with me to build the Syracuse Field Hockey program. I am grateful to Syracuse University and the Athletics Department.”
“We appreciate Ange’s 16 years of service to Syracuse University and thank her for her contributions over the years,” said Syracuse Athletic Director John Wildhack in a statement. “We wish her and her family all the best.”
Bradley finishes with a career record of 381-143-2. She also coached for six seasons as the head coach at the University of Richmond before coming to Syracuse in 2007.
Tim Broenink will serve as interim head coach while the University conducts a national search for Bradley’s successor.
