Carr Named Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach

GLENSIDE - The Arcadia University Department of Athletics and Recreation has announced the hiring of Adrienne Carr as the new Head Women's Lacrosse Coach. Carr begins her duties at Arcadia on July 24.

"I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Athletic Director Brian Granata, Assistant Athletic Director Brett Mariani and the entire search committee for their time and effort through this process," Carr said. "I am honored and humbled to be selected as the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach at Arcadia University."

A Moorestown, N.J. resident, Carr comes to Arcadia after most recently serving as Head Coach at FDU-Florham from 2003 to 2019. A five-time Conference Coach of the Year, Carr led the Devils to seven conference championships and an overall record of 185-101, with 11 Conference Player of the Year selections and 80 All-Conference honorees. In addition, 29 of Carr's players were named All-Region and two were honored with All-American recognition. In her last seven seasons Carr's teams dominated conference play with a 54-3 record in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) competition, a .947 winning percentage.

"Coach Carr is a highly-accomplished and proven professional with a tremendous track record of success in Division III and the MAC," Executive Director of Athletics Brian Granata said. "We are confident that she will be able to continue the upward trajectory of our program and develop the Knights into a team that competes with the top programs in the MAC Freedom."

Carr also served as Associate Athletic Director and Senior Compliance Administrator at FDU, and Carr currently serves as head coach of South Jersey Select Club Lacrosse. Carr also serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Undergraduate and Graduate Sports Administration programs at FDU-Florham.  In addition, Carr will be inducted into the New Jersey Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2023.

"There are extraordinary opportunities available at Arcadia and I'm thrilled to be joining this forward-thinking Athletic Department," Carr continued. "The philosophy I bring is in total alignment with the University's philosophy of offering a first class student-athlete experience. I'm excited to be back competing in the MAC and looking forward to getting on the field with the team. #DefendTheCastle"

Carr earned a bachelor's degree in journalism and media studies from Rutgers University, and a Master of Public Administration and a Master of the Art of Teaching at FDU-Florham.
