James Anderson Promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine

Tigerville – North Greenville Athletic Director Jan McDonald announced the promotion of James Anderson to Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine.
 
Anderson came to North Greenville in 2017 as a graduate assistant athletic trainer and later was hired full time with the University. In Spring 2021 Anderson was named head athletic trainer and has worked primally with the Football Program. He was instrumental in the navigation of COVID-19 and the challenges it brought to Collegiate Athletics. He is responsible for leading, coordinating, and administrating comprehensive athletic training services operations for for our 20 intercollegiate sport teams. 
 
"It is with great pleasure that we announce the promotion of James Anderson who has earned the opportunity to assume more leadership responsibility within the department of intercollegiate athletics,' McDonald said. "The work of athletic trainers is demanding, requires full focus, and needs a strong leader in place. Anderson leadership gives me confidence that our student athletes are receiving excellent care.
 
James Anderson is a native of South Carolina, growing up in the small town of McCormick. He attended the University of South Carolina and obtained a bachelor's of science in Athletic Training in May of 2017. 
 
During his time at USC, he worked as a student Athletic Trainer for the football, men's soccer, and baseball teams. He's also worked as a student athletic trainer during the Independence Bowl game for the Gamecocks. He has also served as an Athletic Trainer intern for the Arizona Cardinals Football Club of the National Football League.
