Westfield, MA – The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC), today announced that it has entered into an exclusive partnership agreement with Nexus Licensing Group, LLC in which it will serve as its domestic licensing agent of record.
Under the agreement, Nexus will provide consultation and licensing management services for the MASCAC and its eight full time member institutions, Bridgewater State University, Fitchburg State University, Framingham State University, Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Salem State University, Westfield State University, and Worcester State University.
The Nexus team will advise the conference and its membership on strategic growth initiatives, brand and retail development, and provide management and trademark enforcement services.
Under the agreement, Nexus will work across the Conference’s footprint to establish best practices for trademark license management and will execute membership-wide marketing campaigns to support the development of each brand and retail marketplace.
“The MASCAC is excited to forge this new partnership with Nexus to take our conference licensing to the next level,” said Angela Baumann, MASCAC Commissioner. “I initiated this conference licensing program over 12 years ago with our Presidents and over the programs lifetime, the membership has brought in over 1.4 million dollars back to our institutions. We have some exciting marketing initiatives that will increase our eight state universities’ promotion of their licensed goods, protect the marks and help our institutions get the edge with profits from the licensing. We are entering our 13th year in the conference licensing program, and I am excited about this new Nexus era to further our brand awareness and revenues.”
“We are thrilled to be working with Angela Baumann, her team, and each member institution again,” said Brian Young, Principal and Managing Director of Nexus. “The unique nature of this agreement allows us to bundle assets and execute on program initiatives that will be impactful conference-wide for years to come.”
