RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Tech University head men's and women's golf coach
Joey Baldwin has announced that he is stepping down from his post to become the head men's golf coach at NCAA Division I, University of Nebraska-Omaha.
A native of Omaha, Baldwin spent one season as head coach of both the men's and women's golf programs at Tech and was tasked with rebuilding both programs after the departure of former national champion coach Luke Calcatera, who left at the end of the 2021-22 season for a DI head coaching job at the University of North Alabama.
In his one season, Baldwin inherited a men's roster of one at the time of his appointment and bolstered it to a roster of eight by the start of the fall season. On the women's side, Baldwin mentored true freshman
Ellen Spigner to a remarkable rookie season that was highlighted with an appearance as an individual in the Central Region Championship Tournament where she tied for 12
th.
He also was set to welcome in recruiting classes that featured five new men's golfers and seven new women's golfers.
A national search for the next head coach for men's and women's golf at Tech will begin immediately.
