LUBBOCK, Texas (July 7, 2023) – Lubbock Christian University Director of Athletics, Scott Larson, has announced Hunter Lively has joined the department to serve as the assistant athletic director for external operations.

"We are genuinely excited to add Hunter to the LCU staff," shared Larson. "His previous experience in external relations at the Division II level will be an incredible asset as we move into the future."

Lively comes to LCU after spending the prior two years as a video production instructor at Fountain Lake Charter High School in the Hot Springs, Ark. vicinity. He brings nine years of experience within NCAA Division II athletics and all were at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Ark. Lively jumped into the HSU Athletic Department as a sports information assistant and spent four years in the sports information offices (two years as a sports information assistant) before spending five years as HSU's director of athletics marketing and external affairs and two years as their assistant athletic director for external affairs.

His primary focus will involve fundraising for LCU athletics through corporate sponsorships, ticket sales and other fundraising events (golf tournament, etc.). He will work directly with each program to assist their efforts in general fundraising and facility projects, and will also assist in community engagement efforts for the athletic department.

While at HSU, Lively was responsible for the Reddies corporate sponsorship program, game day promotions, special events, social media, video production/graphic design and the coordination of community engagement efforts for the athletic program. He also served as the athletic department's head licensing representative, reviewing all licensing requests to ensure they were cohesive with the Henderson State Athletics brand guidelines.

Lively organized and coordinated HSU's annual "Turn-Up For Tipoff" event which highlighted the HSU men's and women's basketball teams, as well as the annual "Redspys" end of the year athletic awards ceremony.

At the 2018-19 COSIDA Publication and Digital Design Awards, Lively was recognized for his "No Mere Beast" campaign video launched in the summer of 2018. The video was voted seventh place in the nation, and competed against all Division II, III, NAIA and Junior College entries.

In addition, Lively was responsible for maintaining and advising the Henderson State Athletics marketing internship program, where three-to-five interns were selected each year to assist the athletic department in a variety of ways and gain on-the-job experience at home athletic events.

With five-years of experience in intercollegiate athletics radio broadcasting, Lively was responsible for the upkeep and yearly enhancements to the Henderson State Sports Network. His responsibilities included searching for on-air talent to fill any positions needed, organizing and distributing radio advertisements to all HSU radio affiliates, and recording weekly interviews with players and coaches to be aired at upcoming sporting events.

As a graduate assistant in the HSU athletics media relations department in 2014-16, Lively's primary responsibilities included conducting player and coach interviews after sporting events, writing feature/game stories, designing game note packages, and serving as the athletic department's main graphic designer as well as the primary communications contact for HSU women's basketball and softball.

With eight years of experience in the field, Lively served as the co-advisor for Henderson State's Fellowship of Christian Athletes program and advisor of the Henderson State Student Athlete Advisory Committee(SAAC).

A native of Hot Springs, Lively graduated from Henderson State in May 2016 with a Master's Degree in Sport Administration, and previously in May 2014 with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications. He currently lives in Lubbock, Texas with his wife, Emily and their son Hudson, who was born in January 2023. Emily is the daughter of LCU volleyball coaches Keith and Michal Giboney.
