PURCHASE, N.Y. -- Manhattanville College Interim President Dr. Louise Feroe officially announced the appointment of Julene Caulfield to the new role of Associate Vice President of Athletics and Recreation.

In her new position, Caulfield will work directly with the president and senior leadership, while continuing to oversee Manhattanville's 24 varsity teams, two junior varsity athletic teams, and intramural and recreation program.
 
Caulfield has been a member of the Manhattanville community since 2002 and first joined the Department of Athletics in 2013 as an Assistant to the Director of Athletics/Assistant Sports Information Director. After working 12 years with the college as the Assistant Director of Athletics, Caulfield was promoted to Associate Director of Athletics in 2017 before advancing up to Director of Athletics and Recreation in 2019.
 
Under Caulfield's leadership as Director of Athletics and Recreation, the Department of Athletics has seen unprecedented growth, adding four additional sports since 2021 while increasing the student-athlete population by over 15%.  She has also overseen several facility upgrades and additions including a second turf field that boasts a seasonal 90,000 square foot bubble during the winter months, new locker rooms and offices in Kennedy Gymnasium, as well as a new outdoor recreation space complete with a sand volleyball court, picnic tables and hammocks. Additionally, her guidance has led the Valiant athletic teams to extraordinary success on their fields of play, with 40 playoff appearances and three conference championships in the past two years as well as continued success in the classroom as well as in the community.
