Kansas State has finalized an institutional partnership with D1.relocation, securing comprehensive concierge relocation assistance for all incoming coaches and administrative staff. Colorado AD Rick George tells BuffZone.com’s Brian Howell his decision to step down at the end of the 2025-26 academic year and transition to a role as Special Advisor to the Chancellor and AD Emeritus has “everything to do with making Colorado better.” George: “I think it’s time for new leadership, a new voice. I’m going to be there to support that person and support football and our revenue-generating areas and whatever Chancellor (Justin) Schwartz wants me to do. [...] I’m committed to this department, athletics here at CU. It’s been one of the greatest honors and privileges that I’ve had to serve our student-athletes and our coaches and staff and I’m looking forward to the next phase. And I think I can be a real asset to this department moving forward in a smaller role. I look forward to carrying that out. [...] This is not a retirement; this is just slow down a little bit and I’m excited about that. I get to spend time with my two granddaughters a little bit more and I’m really looking forward to supporting [Football HC Deion Sanders] and what’s ahead for him and that program, and go out and try to generate some revenue for the department because we desperately need that.“ More. Connecticut AD David Benedict chats with CTInsider’s Mike Anthony about his concerns around the deregulation of sports gambling. “There's nothing we can do to guarantee that doesn't happen. […] There have been coaches who have been terminated because they participated in a Final Four basketball bracket. It's hard to believe now you're going to have people gambling with no limitations. But to play both sides of that decision: Does it make sense to have a rule that is almost impossible to enforce? You'd have to hire who knows how many people to try to track all of this stuff. And, frankly, my guess is you would uncover that a lot of people are already betting five dollars or 10 dollars or however much. […] The concern for me when you ask about our student-athletes is always going to be that when you talk about drugs and alcohol, you hear people reference things like, ‘Gateway.’ Is a five-dollar bet the gateway for, ‘Hey, I won and I'm going to roll this over and win again.’ When does that stop?” (link)

Southeast Missouri AD Brady Barke releases a statement regarding the Redhawks’ decision to remain in the OVC. From the statement: “After examining the conference landscape and opportunities that exist, we believe the OVC continues to be the best place for us at this time. Remaining in the OVC allows us to continue competing in a conference that aligns well with our values and regional connections. Even with the announced departures of Tennessee Tech and Little Rock, the conference currently includes nine full members and eight football-playing institutions. A reinforced commitment from the remaining members of the league creates much needed stability and provides an opportunity to recruit new institutions into the league. [...] As we look ahead, we are focused on strengthening our position within the OVC and ensuring that our programs are well-prepared to succeed both now and in the future.
