Wilkins named Deputy AD, COO

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell University Director of Athletics Hannah Bazemore has named Justin Wilkins Deputy Athletics Director and Chief Operating Officer.

Wilkins, a 2007 Campbell graduate, returns to Campbell after spending time in Jacksonville University Athletics administration since 2015, including the last two years as Senior Associate Athletic Director for Internal Affairs for the Dolphins.

"It is great to have Justin back at Campbell", said Bazemore. "He is a proven leader, a Campbell alum with strong ties to both athletics and this community. He is the perfect person to help this department continue to grow and succeed."

In his new role, Wilkins will serve on the CU Athletics executive team, providing sport oversight and will be responsible for several internal affairs units within the department, including NCAA Compliance, student athlete support, facilities and grounds, equipment and other duties pertaining to the operational needs of the department.

Wilkins joined the Jacksonville staff in 2015 as the Associate Athletics Director of Compliance, and was elevated to his Senior Associate AD role in July 2021.

At JU, Wilkins was responsible for the overall administration of five sports, including men's soccer, women's soccer, men's golf, women's golf and softball). Additionally, he provided direct oversight for the compliance office, the office of student-athlete services, and all athletics fields and facilities. He also served as the athletic liaison to campus constituent groups, including capital projects, and facility services, overseeing the completion of JU's basketball practice facility project.

In 2021, the Garner, N.C. native was selected to participate in TopConnect AD, a leadership symposium for aspiring Division-I Athletics Directors, also serving as a panelist in 2022.

He came to JU after serving as the Director of Compliance at Campbell, working in the CU compliance office from 2008-15.

Wilkins received his bachelor's degree in sports management from Campbell University in 2007, and a master's degree in College Athletic Administration from Coker College in 2015.

Justin and his wife, Cindy have two children, Micah, and Savannah.
