| The Cook is responsible for the implementation of food services in a Head Start program serving children ages 3-5. Responsibilities include preparing attractive, USDA-approved and CACFP-approved meals; keeping the kitchen clean and sanitary according to Health Department ordinances, maintaining adequate food stocks (ordering milk and food), kitchen supplies, attending trainings and food service records, including production books, menu writing.
The Cook will ultimately be evaluated on a combination of skills, dispositions and behaviors, some of which are related to the specific service area of this position and others that represent general expectations of all Mississippi State University – Extension Head Start Program employees.

The international research development projects vary based on the scope of work outlined in the grant documents. For example, these projects may be agricultural, educational, or community-based projects. It is expected that the person hired for this position may travel to foreign countries 2-3 times per year for periods of 12-20 days per visit. This position will report directly to a deputy director of research development in the International Institute located at MSU. There will be frequent contact with agencies, organizations, or individuals that are partners on projects. Foreign language skills are not required. There are several ongoing projects with the expectation for new projects to emerge; therefore, duties and responsibilities will be fluid as each project commences given both partner capacities and current operations. These are time limited projects, and this position is contingent upon continued funding. The position shall also assist in the research and partnership development functions of the unit as time allows. |

| This internship at Mississippi State University is a 12 month clinical program beginning July 1, 2024 and ending June 30, 2025. The intern will rotate between the surgery & medicine (food animal) and theriogenology (food), both in house, and ambulatory services. The internship will focus on providing clinical, hospital based service while learning through interaction by way of consultation with clinical specialists (DACVIM, DACT, MPH). The program is designed to prepare the individual for a residency in a corresponding discipline or entry into private practice. The program is directly supported by 2 diplomates of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, 3 diplomates of the American College of Theriogenologists, 4 clinical faculty professors, and 3 support staff. The food animal clinic annual case load is 1,500-1,800 cases/year (beef 60%, dairy 10%, small ruminants 30%) and ambulatory is 1,300 trips/year (40% beef cow/calf and 20% dairy/small ruminants). As a specialty intern, duties will be specific to only food animal species (except emergency). Additionally, the intern will be expected to participate in didactic teaching (sophomore, junior, and senior). |
