I can confirm that Brett Rector is no longer the head men’s basketball coach at D2 Coker University. He was hired at CU this past April after leading Salem University to the 2022-23 USCAA Division I National Championship. There is no word yet on where he will wind up.

I have also heard that in a corresponding move, D2 Western Colorado will open, as head coach Michael Lamberti will head to Coker as Rector’s replacement. Lamberti was also hired this past April after a five-year stint as the head assistant at D2 powerhouse West Liberty University (WVa). While working at his alma mater, WLU compiled a 135-21 record and advanced to the 2023 National Championship game.

A statement on both of these moves is expected shortly.
