Robinson Named Head Coach of Lady Statesmen Soccer

Delta State University has announced the next Head Coach of the Lady Statesmen Soccer program. Joel Robinson comes to Delta State from Southern Utah State University where he was an assistant coach. Before joining SUSU, Robinson was the Head Coach at Fresno Pacific University during the 2022 season and served from 2018-2022 at Azusa Pacific University where he was an assistant to the women's program. Robinson has coordinated recruiting efforts, organized camps, and assisted in team fundraising efforts also. 
 
Robinson is an Accounting major graduate of Greenville University in Greenville, Illinois where in 2007 and 2009 he led the team to the NCCAA National Tournament. He was a key player in the University's first NCAA National Tournament appearance in 2008. He does have experience in the state of Mississippi, serving as a graduate assistant at Belhaven University in 2012 and 2013. He helped coach the Blazers to a 2012 National Championship and aided the team's return to the 2013 National Tournament, reaching the Elite 8.

He is a quality person with strong organizational skills and a competitive spirit that will impact our squad. We welcome Joel and his wife Rebecca to our Athletic Department family," stated Kinnison.
