UO board of trustees to vote on license or lease agreement for construction of new indoor football practice facility

The Oregon Ducks’ new indoor football practice facility is now expected to be complete in 2025.

The project was originally anticipated to be complete by the fall of 2024 but has been delayed while the university continues to negotiate a land swap with the city of Eugene, efforts that remains ongoing. The University of Oregon’s board of trustees is set to hear a proposal next week to lease or license portions of the existing Hatfield-Dowlin Complex as well as the property to be acquired from the city to Phit Too, LLC, an entity of the University of Oregon Foundation, which will manage the construction of the new 170,000-square-foot facility “currently contemplated to be complete in 2025,” according to documents.

The finance and facilities committee of UO’s board of trustees will hear the proposal during its meeting on Monday. If approved, the full board will vote on the proposal on Tuesday.
