Guilford Welcomes Brooks Doughtie

The Guilford College athletic department would like to introduce Brooks Doughtie as the new head coach of the Women's Swimming and Women's Triathlon teams.

"Brooks' candidacy stood out to our committee due to his proficiency in both Women's Swimming and Women's Triathlon as well as his plan for successfully recruiting in both sports," said Bill Foti, Director of Athletics. "We're very excited about this new full-time position and how it will benefit our student-athletes and grow our rosters. The future is bright for Guilford Women's Swimming and Triathlon as we continue to support these teams, particularly through our continued relationship with the Greensboro Aquatic Center."

Doughtie joins Guilford College after spending time with the William Peace University swim staff. Additionally, he spent time as an assistant coach for the YOTA Swim Team.

"I want to first thank Athletic Director, Bill Foti for allowing me this great opportunity as well as the search committee for showcasing the Quaker way," Doughtie mentioned. "I wouldn't be here without the support from USAT's Tim Yount and the various coaching mentors that I have had over my coaching career. I look forward to creating a team culture built on hard work in the classroom and on the Quaker swim and triathlon teams. We will work hard, enjoy our sport and represent Guilford College to the fullest."

Prior to being a swim coach for YOTA and the YMCA, Doughtie was the head coach for the North Carolina State University Club Triathlon team as well as time with the USA Triathlon.

Doughtie received his bachelors in Marine and Coastal Environment from N.C. State University in 2004. He then earned his masters degree in Exercise Science and Performance Enhancement from California University of Pennsylvania in 2015.
