Trinity College Names Junge Next Head Men's Golf Coach

HARTFORD, Conn. - Trinity College has announced the hiring of Jack Junge as its next head men's golf coach. Junge is set to take over for Matt Greason who will step away from the position to concentrate on coaching Trinity's men's ice hockey team while continuing to support Coach Junge and Trinity Head Women's Golf Coach Andra Frappier.  Junge was an assistant men's golf coach under Greason for the last four years, helping that squad reach the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament in 2021. and served as Trinity's interim head women's golf coach in 2021-22.  A 2019 graduate of Trinity with a bachelor's degree in history,  Junge has also been an assistant coach for the Trinity women's ice hockey team and has run hockey operations for both Bantam ice hockey programs since 2020.  He is a four-year member of the Trinity men's golf program and was a goaltender on the men's ice hockey team.  

"Jack's passion for Trinity is unmatched. As an alumnus, a NESCAC champion in two sports, and a valued member of our coaching staff, Jack's commitment to the game of golf and growth as a professional has been on full display," said Trinity Athletic Director Drew Galbraith. "We are thrilled to have him take in this head-coaching position and trust he will lead the team to achieve in all aspects of their life at Trinity."

Junge was a Trinity men's golf captain and a a two-time All-NESCAC honoree on the links.  He received All-NESCAC First Team honors as a senior and Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) Ping Division III All-American Honorable Mention All-Northeast Regional Team honors as a rookie in 2015-16.  Junge graced the NESCAC All-Academic Team six times in golf and ice hockey, was a NESCAC All-Sportsmanship Award recipient, and served on Trinity's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). He helped lead the Bantams to NESCAC men's golf titles in 2018 and 2019, and a best-ever, 10th-place finish in the 2019 NCAA Division III Championships.  Junge was also a member of Trinity's 2017 and 2019 NESCAC Champion men's ice hockey squads.

"I would also like to thank my family and friends for their unwavering support. It's a dream come true to be a head coach at my alma mater. Trinity means the world to me and I can't wait to help grow the program that Coach Greason has done such a fantastic job building the last 10 years."
