"It is with a heavy heart that I am stepping down as the head baseball coach at GVSU," said Detillion. "I am very thankful for the support over time from our alumni, administrators, athletic department staff, field staff, player parents/families as well as the energy and work invested by our assistant coaches and support staff. I am very grateful for the many relationships built with the quality men in our program. I am also very proud of their tireless effort and commitment. Grand Valley has been a great place to call home," added Detillion.

The Lakers finished the 2023 campaign with a 32-21 mark and advanced to the GLIAC Tournament Championship game.
