Bent Steps Down As Rogers State’s Head Women’s Basketball Coach

CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State University Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Chris Ratcliff announced on Monday, May 22 that Kyle Bent has resigned his position as head women's basketball coach to pursue other opportunities. Bent recently completed his fifth season on the Hill.

"Hillcat Athletics thanks Kyle for his contributions to RSU Women's Basketball and for being an important part of our athletic family over the last five years," said Ratcliff. "Kyle gave everything he had to the women in his program and to Rogers State more broadly. We wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors."

In his five seasons with the Hillcats, Bent helped guide RSU in the transition from the Heartland Conference to the MIAA during the 2019-20 season. He also oversaw the recruitment and development of several young talent. During the 2020-21 season, Bent coached Shay Stone to the program's freshman block record as she swatted 40 shots in just 22 games. He also helped mold Bailey Kliewer into one of the best players in program history as she became just the fourth Hillcat in school history to join the 1,000-point club in a game at home against Northeastern State this past season.

Rogers State will immediately begin a national search for the next head coach of Hillcat Women's Basketball.
